The Celestial print is used in the melder to receive 1 rare monster part per ticket and the Golden Tickets are used to receive 1 high-end decoration from the melder. After you hit Overdrive for the first time you'll gain the ability to hold down the Right Trigger and have the machine automatically choose the random buttons for you. Anything you've spent on the Steamworks is stored as progression for later, so you don't have to do it all in 1 go. You can do this 1-time per week (or in the case of a festival 1-time per day).
